Here's the thing that really cheesed me off: Chelsea was campaigning a month ago for Mom about 12 miles from the farm, up in Rushville. I didn't know until I happened to go into town a couple of hours later.

MAN was I cheesed. If I'da knowed, I'd a been up there and gotten me a handful of that ass. It would have been WORTH the Secret Service beatdown I would know doubt have gotten.

Nah, Chelsea in '16, haven't you heard?

Gotta knock off Nancy Pelosi too - as Speaker she's #3 in line! Hmmm, wonder if we could shove Chelsea in there? No coochie but Clinton coochie for POTUS!

Shyler- I dig your paranoid fantasies, especially this new one about assassinating Obama. "But now we have come almost to the end. One last step."

Ya suppose she'll send Chelsea out to do the job? Is she a trained marksman?

Al - was that tongue-in-cheek or R U serious? Hillary periodically invoking the specter of RFK's assassination on the eve of his nomination only strengthens the Manchurian Candidate connection. She's telling her supporters (wink, wink) KILL OBAMA when the time is right. Or she'll handle it, push come to shove, she's that cold a b!tch, you see that, eh? That way no one will think camp Hillary stole the election, a la Bush '00.

I meant it as a nightmare scenario where warhawks dependent on the military-industrial complex would love nothing than give brain dead America the impression they still have control over the electoral process. Even Constitutionally we *don't* have direct control, but let's not quibble over details. Bush has put the nail in the coffin of America's long-term economic security or relevance. There's a fire sale of US assets to Asia and the Middle East. I'm not hating on them, hey we did it to them for centuries; what goes around comes around. It's just that we put ourselves out there like a cheap whore whereas they were forced into it by us.

Say what you will about Obama or McCain, but Hillary, with her insincere rhetoric, is the biggest political and economic mole by FAR. Plus why is it when she greets crowds she looks like someone shoved a hot curling iron up her twat? And she liked it? That alone offends me - she greets general audiences like they're a bunch of 2 year olds watching a Barney cartoon. The 2 year old in me screams in terror when I see her buggin' eyed face. Makes Bush look like Einstein. This clown for our next POTUS? OMG Canada!

Sorry to wander off-topic, it's just that the MC remake dealt with this election cycle and people are increasingly seeing parallels between the movie and RL. The latest flap over the RFK assassination reference, along with the Clinton's private economic connections, make the comparisons all the more topical.

Shyler- Thanks for that groovy fantasy. President Hillary going apeshit on some Arab dirtbags does sound GREAT. I'll probably be having dreams of Hillary.

Of course, I was head of the 2008 Hoosier <a href="http://morethings.com/log/2008/05/my-libertarian-blues-and-ron-paul-in.html">Libertarians for Hillary</a>.

This is 4 years later, but Meryl Streep's Senator Shaw performance now seems eerily, creepily prescient. Every time I see Clinton I think of this film and my skin crawls.

If Obama gets the nomination and gamely picks Clinton as his running mate he will either be shot on the DNC convention floor or within 6 months after winning the general election. The assassin will most likely be a brainwashed Abu Ghraib prisoner with a manufactured profile courtesy of the NSA/DHS, thus erasing any ties to the right wing power structure. The news media will manically wave the Arab's face before a devastated/triumphant public already polarized by this election cycle, deflecting any finger pointing at Hillary and/or the Republicans. The media will depict suspicious Barack HUSSEIN Obama supporters and conspiracy theorists as unpatriotic, TERRORIST sympathizers or the lunatic fringe. A new wave of anti-Arab/Muslim sentiment will sweep the nation, "forcing" Clinton to continue military operations in Iraq and the "War on Terror".

Thus the +1 billion dollars a day in military spending will continue, most of which is directed towards nominally American controlled conglomerates operating overseas in Asia and the Middle East, until this country is squeezed dry and abandoned for China, India and Israel. If only 10% of those first two nation's populations become wealthy/upper-middle class, that is equivalent to EVERY man, woman and child in the United States. Who needs the support of Kentucky hillbillies and Detroit ghetto roaches when you have that kind of spending power within reach? Jonathan Demme and the screenwriters were definitely trying to send a warning volley to the public with this one.
