This most descriptive phrase is often used to describe lots of activity with no useful outcome.

On June 10 in New York City, Guernsey's Auction House is auctioning a large trove of Titanic-related materials, including an actual deck chair, one of four or five believed to exist.

Three are in museums.

The chair is expected to bring $50,000-$60,000.

I recommend that all companies using Flash on their websites attend the auction and bid for this chair.

The winner should present it to the head of the company's IT department.
