Strip searched before the movie

Last night, I caught a sneak preview of the movie. Before we could enter the theatre, though, we were searched — bags checked, wanded, patted down. Some of the people were turned away when their cell phones could take pictures. This is first time I've ever had that happen to me, but it's been awhile since I've been to a preview.

Anyone else had this experience? It could put a crimp in one of the more amusing urban experiences.

Geez, all the movie business needs to do to totally screw themselves is make a ticket as expensive as a DVD purchase.

I haven't been to a theatre in years, and I currently pay $25 a month for net-mail DVD rentals, so why should I go to a theatre, unless I enjoy abuse, and an audience who don't know enough to shut up and watch the movie?
