Published June 02, 2004
Some people want to buy a home, but are affraid that they can't afford it, so instead of buying a home, they rent an apartment, a house or a condo. With so much money being provided by HUD, no person, no family should ever be without ownership of their own home. See what HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson told RisMedia.com about HUD's downpayment assistance program:
"During the Bush Administration, a record number of new homeowners, specifically minority families, have achieved a home of their own," said Jackson. "I encourage Congress to fully support the president's request to continue this important new homeownership tool so even more families can realize their American Dream."
The money will be allocated to state and local governments, which will provide the money to first-time homebuyers who need monetary assistance in paying the downpayment and closing costs included in purchasing a home. To find out more about the program, check out the article at RisMedia.com.
It's good to know that more Americans will have access to the funding that will allow them to achieve the American Dream of homeownership.
