Michael Moore's Disturbing Terrorism

Michael Moore's web site posted a shocking video clip showing the murder and beheading of Mickey Mouse, beloved American icon and the chief spokesrodent for the Disney Company.

The 9 minute video, which — typical of Moore — is of very poor quality and consists of two segments. The first shows a distraught mouse sitting handcuffed on the floor against a blank wall. With very little emotion, he identifies himself and details of his provenance:

"My name is Mickey Mouse. I was born in 1927 in "Steamboat Willy". I have a fiancee named Minnie and my father is Walt Disney. For the last 77 years, I've lived in Buena Vista, California."

The video is edited at this point, and the second segment shows the mouse surrounded by six hooded men. The gigantic fat man in the center — wearing a baseball cap over his black hood — reads a prepared statement for the camera:

"This is retribution for the refusal of the Disney Company to distribute my new film "Fahrenheit 911". This facist capitalist corporate conglomerate has disregarded the laws of contractual business agreements and succumbed to pressure from Right-Wing conservatives in a blatant attempt to censor my free speech. As patriotic freedom fighters, we will not tolerate the abuse and humiliation of the Second Amendment."

At the end of his statement, the obese hooded baseball cap wearing man takes out a large animated knife, cuts off Mickey's head, and then holds it up by the large round ears for the camera.

All major news outlets, from print to television, have refused to show still photo screen-captures or the video for the American public, saying that the images are too disturbing for public consumption. This refusal to publish graphic images of a terrorist act committed against an American has prompted Right-Wing commentators to express outrage at the politicization of news editing, charging that the "liberal media" is practicing their own form of anti-American censorship.

This morning on his daily radio program, Right-Wing host Rush Limbaugh ranted against this partisan political stance relative to the refusal to air the controversial video:

Limbaugh: They didn't balk at showing photos of the high school-like hazing of a few terrorists at Abu Ghraib prison, but they refuse to allow the American public to witness a heinous, bloodthirsty terrorist act committed by one of their beloved liberals. They're afraid that showing the torture and abuse of an animated American icon will encourage more support for President Bush and his ongoing fight against terrorism. I say let the American people see just what our liberal enemies are capable of — what an evil, homicidal bunch of Left-Wing liberal pinko pansies will do to dishonor our nation. They're nothing more than animals, and this video is an explicit demonstration of the barbaric nature of the liberal left."

The last time Mickey Mouse was humiliated in public was in the mid-60s, when left-wing liberal homosexual artist Andy Warhol requisitioned his image for one of his demented, perverted silkscreen art works.

I think the beheading of Mickey Mouse is a little bit 'overkill' and in poor taste. I hadn't heard about it until this thread.

I've never seen a Michael Moore movie, but there is one thing that I definitely like about him and that is the fact that he's the left's equivalent of Rush or Bill O'Reilly. There needs to be more people like Franken or Moore who will unabashedly stand up to the rhetoric from the right.

The only drawback to that, is that mainstream/moderate conservatives love extremists like Rush or Michael Savage, even though those mainstream conservatives might not be as extreme as them. Moderate liberals on the other hand, are put off by someone who is proud to be a liberal activist. Moderate liberals (probably about 90% of all liberals) want to make everybody happy, including conservatives. Yet conservatives and ultra-liberals like Moore know that isn't possible so have the chutzpah to go ahead with their viewpoint anyway.

Does the term "tongue in cheek" ring a bell?

#6 — May 18, 2004 @ 19:25PM — boomcrashbaby

Yes, it rings a bell. I got it. Doesn't mean it's funny, but it's not offensive to me either. A comedy about the assassination of JFK wouldn't make me laugh either. Doesn't get me bent out of shape though. Some things, while maybe not offensive, when put tongue in cheek, still just aren't ha-ha funny.

Oh.

My.

God.

And

Why

do

I

my

PS: re. JFK jokes -

"Why would a Christian wear a cross around the neck to 'remember' Jesus? You think when Jesus comes back, he's gonna want to see a fucking cross!? That's like wearing a Manlicher-Carcano rifle pin on your lapel and going up to Jackie Kennedy... (tapping lapel)...just thinkin' about John, Jackie... just thinkin' about John." --- Bill Hicks

Moore's latest debacle illustrates succinctly the problem with liberals: they want America to lose the war! They make a big to-do about Abu Ghraib, but they never seem to have anything to say about the burnings and beheadings occurring to American soldiers and civilian contractors by subhumans. These liberals also like to pretend that Bush and Cheney are somehow "more evil" than poor, misunderstood Saddam, who only wants to continue his sadistic and cruel tyranny and to attack Israel. To anyone who likes that fat, gross pig named Michael Moore (who looks like he lis "in a van down by the river" and molests small boys), I say screw you for your anti-American sentiments. BTW, the Dems were the ones who tried to steal the election in '00. The DNC tried to block the U.S. overseas military vote from being counted, but fortunately they failed. Idiot liberals in Florida, who were too stupid to be able to figure out a ballot that a second grade classroom had no difficulty grasping, whined and cried so much about "being misled" that a recount was initiated thanks in part to their temper tantrum. The funny thing was, despite the dimpled chads, hanging chads, ad nauseam, every single time the votes were recounted George W. Bush's lead grew! Bush did NOT steal the election. Gore TRIED to, but he failed. Liberals are the kinds of people who get on elevators, pass gas, and then try to blame it on the other guy when another person gets on. Gore needed a makeover -a MAKEOVER- in order to try to appear presidential. How manly of him. I guess he should have gotten a perm so we could all see his "compassionate, feminine side". Alec Baldwin said that if Dubya won the election, then he (Baldwin) would move to Canada. Maybe he will this November, and with a lot of luck the liberal, Moore-worshipping, tattoo'ed, shave-headed, Birkenstock-shod, Volvo-driving, vegan-clinging, drug-infested, baggy-clothes-wearing, hiphop-and-gangsta-rap-loving, homosexual-adoring, NAMBLA-joining, NOW-supporting, tree-hugging, skinny, undernourished, chainsmoking, pissed off hippy dipshit liberal crowd will go with him.

"hiphop-and-gangsta-rap-loving, homosexual-adoring, NAMBLA-joining, NOW-supporting, tree-hugging, skinny, undernourished, chainsmoking, pissed off"

Wow. Where can i meet these folks?

"...Liberals are the kinds of people who get on elevators, pass gas, and then try to blame it on the other guy when another person gets on..."

Actually, the Standard American GOP Diet of small helpless poor children has been proven to produce more gas than tofu and sushi combined.

So there!

#11 — July 23, 2004 @ 02:41AM — Rob Adcox

Wow. Now you're insulting ethnic food? And I thought you libs were "compassionate" and just oh-so-"pc". My bad...

#12 — July 23, 2004 @ 02:49AM — Rob Adcox

Sandy Bergler hides stolen secret documents in his underwear while working for John Kerry, and you want to insult Republicans? Now you're in a state of denial regarding what a train wreck the Democratic Party has become. It was the arrogance of people like Sandy Bergler and the Clintons (and Kerry) that repelled me from being a Democrat. I hope Michael Moore does a "sockumentary" on Sandy Bergler. Of course, you [edited] would be outside the theaters protesting and verbally harrassing the police when they did their job and hauled your sorry butts off to jail. I'll say one thing for the Kerry crowd: you may be stupid, but you sure are creepy!

the subcategory of "humor and satire" at the top and the bottom of the post should be a pretty good clue

#14 — July 23, 2004 @ 10:07AM — Shark

Rob,

The phrase "...you whiny, sanctimonious, little liberal GIRLIE-MEN..." sorta defines the paradigm for "creepy"

Thanks!

PS: You folks please quit calling Shark a "lib", "liberal", etc. I'm a true conservative, which means I oppose everything the Bush administration does.

#15 — July 23, 2004 @ 10:10AM — Justene [URL]

And I did think it was creepy but didn't get to it before Shark did. That stack of comments in the morning is challenging.

#16 — July 26, 2004 @ 21:46PM — Rob Adcox

Bush isn't very conservative. Yep, you're dead-on right about that. Still, I'm faced with having to choose between him, Kerry, or someone who will only lose. Bush has shown some guts, but Kerry wants to run crying to the U.N. about the war. He wants to burden us with a gasoline tax that many of us can ill afford, and oh yeah he wants to make waffles our national meal!
