Maybe he is innocent

So, I was watching the Charlie Manson movie 'Helter Skelter' tonight on CBS, and I got to thinking about the whole race war idea. I know Charlie was deeply influenced by the Beatles, and that he himself influenced the Beach Boys briefly. People called Charlie crazy, because of the possibility of the Beatles using their music to communicate orders to Charlie directly. If you don't know the story about 'Helter Skelter' already, allow me to sum up. Charlie believe that a huge race war was inevitable between whites and blacks. He felt the blacks would win. However, he also felt that the blacks were too dumb to lead themselves. So, Charlie's plans were to hide out in the desert with his 'family' while the race war boiled over. Then he would march back to society and be the new leader of the black nation. That is 100% true folks (not the theory, but that Charlie believed the theory), read the whole thing in the prosecutors memoir by Vincent Bugliosi. The purpose of the famed Tate/ LaBiance murders was to jump start the process. That is why things were written in blood like 'pig'. His thinking was that white america would assume black america was behind the killing, and so would begin the prophesized 'Helter Skelter'. So I started to do some digging, to see if the Beatles were complicit at all. Anyone familiar with my work already knows about my enlightening lyrical interpreation of John Lennon as arsonist in 'Norweigan Wood'. Let the record reflect that my pieces regarding lyrical break down and analysis have been nothing if not 'complete prevarications' (USA Today). The NY Times hailed my piece as 'largely unread'. Anyhow, I found this terrific lyric archive and I present to you a copy and paste of the lyrics to Helter Skelter untouched and unedited. See what you think about it:

Helter Skelter
Lennon/ McCartney
When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slidey
Where I stop and I turn and I kill a whitey
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.

Helter skelter helter skelter
Helter skelter.

Will you, won't you want me to rule you
I'm coming down fast but don't let them break you
Tell me tell me tell me the answer
You may be a killer but you ain't no master.

Look out helter skelter helter skelter
Helter skelter

When I get to the mansion I go back to the top of the slide
And I stab and I turn and I go for a ride
And I get to the bottom and I kill you again

Well do you, don't you want me to kill you
I'm coming down fast gonna kill the white man
Tell me tell me tell me Charlie is the answer
the Whites are all dead, but I'll be your master

It's fun to obsess over Manson as the boogeyman. But dig a little deeper than Geraldo's creation of him. Once you do, you will discover it's all just a steaming pile of white-trash bullshit.....

There is no deep, dark, cool mystery here. Only pathetic sadness performed by people who hated themselves as much as the world they lived in. To say Manson is innocent is to say Hitler is innocent. It reveals one's own self hatred.

Dude,
You missed the boat here. Read my transcripts of the Beatle's lyrics... the piece is satire. As for Charlie's narcissism, I could do another 5 pieces on that. In a nutshell, I don't think Charlie really believed any of that crap about Helter Skelter and the race war... I just think it is what he fed people to keep them scared and keep them loyal.

First, my name is Chris, not "dude." Second, if you are going to write satire, at least make a decent stab at it (pun intended).....

If this blog is satire, it is easily the most heavy-handed satire I have ever seen. I have decided to give you and RJ the "Worst Satire Writer" award.

Congrats and keep up the scathing "satire"....

I am sick and tired of reading bad satire and bad writing, and then later finding out that the bad writing is a fun joke on me......If you are going to attempt to write satire, learn to write well first.....

Chris, ouch - that was painful... but I will accept it. The reason I sent the clarification out though was because YOU thought I was writing a hero piece on Manson, which is far from the case.

thanks,

how do the murders relate to the theory about race wars? I never understood that part.

Well, I'll explain it as I understand it. Charlie was waiting for 'Helter Skelter' to happen, which is when the blacks would go to war against the whites... and win. Charlie's plan was to hide out in the desert with 'the family' while this happened. The problem was, the race war never materialized. So, Charlie decided to jump start the process. He did a couple of high profile murders, and wrote stuff like 'pig' in the victims blood. The thinking then was that these crimes would get blamed on the blacks (terms like pig were in the vernacular of the Black Panthers at the time). Problem is, those murders never sparked the race war either.

As I mentioned up above, I don't really think Charlie believed this stuff himself. However, he was a delusiosional and narcisstic. He cared for no one but himself, ever.

Quite honestly I think that all that is a cover story.

You putting out this website is doing nothing to find the -real- truth.

The government made quite a few mistakes. They slipped up. People are still curious and I want to find out the truth.
