Well Oiled
The Quireboys
(SPV)
The Quireboys are back with quite possibly their best album since their debut. They are most definetely firing on all cylinders with this release. It has all those elements of The Stones and The Black Crowes, mixed with a bit of bluesy Cinderalla and Whitesnake. About to embark on a tour with UFO across the UK, the band are on fine form. Songs like "Lorraine, Lorraine" and 'You've got a Nerve" are what the band is all about. Spike is in fine form but scratchy and gruff as ever. He gets away with it because the music perfectly suits his voice. This is bluesy rock at its absolute best. Forget the Aerosmith covers album and gets yer mitts on Spike & the boys. There are not many people out there who can do original blues rock as well as this lot. I, for one, can't wait to see them live, again. Yes, lads it is 'Good to See You'.

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at:

I have to agree, this is a brilliant album. Only 9 songs, but still 40 mins of some of the best rock n' roll you'll hear for a long time. The current line up is probably their strongest ever (still including orignal members, Spike - vocals, Nigel Mogg - bass, and Guy Griffen - guitar). This album is an absolute must - as they always say live, "This Is Rock N' Roll" - and after listening to this album, I have to say that this really IS rock n' roll!!!
