Dogs LOVE to chew. More, they NEED to chew. Contrary to what gum does to human teeth, dog chew toys actually improve dog's dental health. Comparing a child's boredom with gum (which, by the way, is arguable too, to say the least), is like saying that children must hate hopscotch because dogs don't play it.
