I was way too into the show then.

What a geek :)

I think I've lost my American Idol buzz somewhat after how boring last season was.

This brings back memories of when I first found this site.

I quote myself:

"What I meant to say was Jasmine has no realistic chance at making the top 2 even if she ekes by this coming week.

Oh, and LaToya is basically Tamira Gray all over again, except this time without a Kelly to beat her out. America picked Justin Guarini's jive ass for the finals once before ... I hope they don't go for Diana DeGarmo's saccharine madness because she has no chance against LaToya."

What a brilliant young lad I was.

Fantasia in 5!

That is all.

SIMON AND AMY ADAMS REMIND ME OF JAY LENO. THEY'RE LIKE FAMILY!

CAN WE STOP THE VOTING NOW AND JUST GO ON WITH THE FANTASIA/LA TOYA SHOWDOWN?
THIS EXCITEMENT WILL BE SPOILED THOUGH BECAUSE OF DIANA DEGARMENT'S VOTERS. LA TOYA AND FANTASIA'S VOTES ARE SPLIT AND THIS GIVES DIANA DEGARMENT AN EDGE.

I make my triumphant return.

Yeah, George deserved to leave, and not just for the ugly brown shirt with the pit stains that made all of America lose its appetite at dinner time. He didn't sing "What a Wonderful World" particularly well, no matter how much I also love that song. You were totally off about his performance -- while it wasn't as terrible as his last few weeks, he was VERY vulnerable and there's NO WAY he sang better than Fantasia did. The video capsule on him was sweet, though, and reminded you what a nice, lovable loser kinda guy he was. He's just not star material.

Jasmine needs to get her silly flower back and hit the right notes. She realistically has no chance of making the top 3. Her cutesy thing doesn't seem to be wearing well with voters the longer she goes into the competition. She doesn't seem to have much confidence in her voice too and it shows more and more each week.

I pray to God Diana isn't in the final two by virtue of the Omaha cracker vote because she's horrifying. She's got a powerful voice but she has no nuance or ability to convey much emotion other than absolute manic desperation passing as enthusiasm in her songs. Everything's over-the-top and not in the good way Jennifer Hudson was, either. I do think, however, that Disco will help her next week and she'll stay over Jasmine. I don't think Diana would sneak into the final 2 over Fantasia, but it's a possibility because she represents all the sickening, plastic things that many of her Middle America supporters love about her. Go JonBenet. If she and her massive stage mom from hell are in the finals, the contest should end once and for all because she has no ability to be a mainstream star.

It's LaToya's contest to win. She's got the looks and a good-enough voice and she's done enough to dupe America into thinking she's not so boring after all.

Fantasia's the most interesting and unique singer and I hope she steps it up to give LaToya a real challenge. I think her image will hurt her and she probably needs to tone down the shout-outs and dedications (it may have worked the week after Jennifer left, but enough already).

Oh, and by the way, Paula needs help. Others have said this better, but there's something wrong with that woman. I almost feel bad going into it and picking it apart because there's a problem with her. I wouldn't be surprised if this is her last season on American Idol, for more reasons than one.

I also think Simon's been holding back a lil bit this season. His comments haven't been as biting or vicious and he gets cut off by the stupid music everytime he gets started. In part, this may have to do with the fact that he realizes the weakness of this year's group of kids and doesn't want to tear apart singers who will have a hard enough time selling records if they do win.

Seacrest is dressing better. Good for him.

That is all

No, TDavid, I want my silly karaoke contests for a shitty record deal that makes Simon rich to be fair per season, not over the life of the show. I mean really with a prize like "crappy record deal while being marketed like a whore" on the line, it has to be fair.

Craig - it's just alternating sexes ... Season 1 = woman, Season 2 = man ... Season 3 = woman.

We can count on a man next year or it will be sexist!

Shouldn't there be people complaining that this silly gameshow of karaoke losers is sexist or something right now? If the stupid thing was racist, it should now be sexist too.
