State Polls in 2004
Published April 09, 2004
First, look here.
Colorado looks like solid Bush country (Bush up 9). This might help the GOP nominee hold retiring-Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell's seat by riding Bush's coat-tails to victory.
Bush is up 8 in Florida. No recount here! JEB won re-election convincingly in 2002. Florida is finally a true Southern state!
Kerry is killing Bush (by ten points) in Michigan. Those unionized blue-collar workers and metro-Detroit African-Americans are making this otherwise fairly conservative state look like a Kerry victory in November.
Minnesota = Kerry all the way. He's up 12 right now, even if you include Nader! No chance for Bush here...
New Mexico shows Bush leading, but it's within the margin-of-error. Gore barely won this state in 2000; Bush hopes to squeek out a win this time, thanks to his endless pandering to Hispanics.
Bush is up only two in Ohio, a state he must win. The economy is on the minds of people in Ohio. If a million more jobs are created between now and November, Bush has this locked. But if job-creation is stifled, Bush is in trouble in this Electoral College vote-rich state.
Bush is up 6 in both PA and WI. Bush could certainly use a win in PA (because he won't get one in WI)...
