USA Today (www.usatoday.com) have issued the following report on GREAT WHITE's Burning House Of Love album. The article reads: The band whose pyrotechnics sparked a nightclub fire that killed 100 people said they have been assured that a recently released cover album titled Burning House Of Love will be pulled from store shelves. A manager for the 1980s rock band Great White said the CD was an unauthorized release. Obi Steinman added that the distributor agreed the name was in poor taste and planned to stop its sale. The album, released by the label Horizon Italy, comprises covers of other bands' songs performed by Great White. The title track, originally performed by the band X, was performed by Great White before the Feb. 20, 2003, fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick. As of Wednesday night, the album was still available on Amazon.com. Steinman said he didn't know when the Internet sites would stop selling the album, but said he was assured by Horizon Italy and its North American distributor, City Hall Records, that sales would be halted. Steinman said the companies said they picked the album title without thinking about any connection to the fire.

Friday, February 20th, marked the one-year anniversary of the tragic STATION NIGHTCLUB fire in Warwick Rhode Island where 100 music fans lost their lives. Erik Tweedy is co-chairing a fundraiser to generate money for the Station Family Fund and is looking for some assistance. Tweedy's organization, Northwest Rockers To The Rescue, www.northwestrockers.com, has issued the following statement: "We are doing a couple of things to raise money for the victims and families that have been affected by this horrific event. First off, we are having a raffle for a custom painted autographed guitar, which will be autographed by all the members of the current GREAT WHITE band.Ê As a 2nd prize, we are giving away two 3-Day passes plus camping for Rockin' The Rivers 2005, a music festival in Montana. Rockin' The Rivers is one of our main sponsors.Ê Additionally, we will have T-Shirts for sale and would also like to raise money through auctions on E-Bay by selling autographed music memorabilia or CDs and other music related items.Ê Our goal is to raise $20,000 through the raffle and auctions by August 1st, 2004.Ê The raffle drawing will be held on stage at Rockin' The Rivers with Great White on Saturday August 14th, 2004. We have the full support of everyone at the Station Family Fund, www.stationfund.org .Ê 100% of all monies raised will go directly to the Station Family Fund. All federal and state agencies have turned their backs on these innocent victims and their families. We have an opportunity now to make a difference and reach out to our fellow rockers and lend a hand."
