Cult AOR that ages well

Strangeways
(Castle)
A cult 80s AOR group in the UK, Strangeways were widely touted by critics but never adopted by the vast masses. While Bon Jovi and his ilk were doing similar stuff to stadiums, Strangeways could barely get a look in. Pity, really, as there is material on this compilation that ranks up there with the best of 80s Bon Jovi and others like. Songs like the title track add the right amount of pomp and catchiness with the proper amount of rock. There is truly not a stinker in this 15 track selection. This is AOR at its best, done very well. It is great to see Castle giving this lot a second airing. What a shame they didn't hit it the first time. Thanks to music biz cock-ups and band mistakes, they were never given their due. Highly recomended for fans of AOR and decent hard rock.
