Townshend on kiddie porn

CMU reports:

The fallout of Pete Townshend's arrest for viewing child pornography online
continues this week - despite the fact police accepted his explanation that he viewed the websites in question as research for a new book. Not only was
Townshend unfortunate enough to have his use of the websites discovered, but he was arrested while a BBC documentary crew were following the work of the police team that specialise in combating child porn.

Despite admitting that concentrating on Townshend's arrest "takes away from
the real pornographers", said documentary's producer couldn't resist the
temptation of dedicating a big chunk of the first edition of the three part series to showing its footage of the Who star being questioned by policeover the child porn allegations.

Speaking to the Independent on Sunday the show's producer, Bob Long, said:
"In a way I wish we hadn't filmed Townshend, but he serves as a cautionary
tale - don't be tempted to look at child porn because you life might be ruined."

The producer then admits: "His lawyers would have given anything for the
documentary not to happen. But they took no legal action, I think because they would have lost."
