Elsewhere in the world of MTV, and some sad news. John JJ Jackson, one of
the first five on-air personalities at the US branch of the music channel,
has died at the age of 62. A long time radio DJ, Jackson was part of the
team - which also included Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood, Martha Quinn and
Alan Hunter - that launched the music network, and remained its only high
profile black presenter for much of the early years. Reports suggest Jackson
died of a heart attack while driving to his LA home on Wednesday.

A statement from MTV reads: "Jackson was a big part of the channel's success
and we are sure he is in the music section of heaven, with lots of his friends and heroes. He will be greatly missed."
