Buckethead leaves GnR

CMU reports:

Guns 'n' Roses has lost another member. Bizarre guitarist Buckethead - who
wears a fried-chicken bucket on his head and talks through a hand puppet - has announced he is quitting Axl Roses' outfit to pursue solo work because he is fed up with "Guns' inability to complete an album or tour". No comment yet from G 'n' R's people as to whether Buckethead will be replaced and, if so, whether a new guitarist will be in place in time for the Rock in Rio
festival in Lisbon on 30 May.

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at: Disgraceful Music. His Cthulhu tales can be found at Temple of Dagon.

When was the last time they finished a show or even showed up for that matter?
Anyone taking this GnR thing with any seriousness deserves to lose ticket money on one of there "no shows"!

It boggles my mind that Axl Rose thinks he can get away with behaving like this. It has to be difficult for him to hire musicians; you can only coast on your name for so long.

Isn't Axl like 50 and bald and fat now?

#8 — March 19, 2004 @ 18:50PM — Roger

Yeah Tek, and he's a cry baby herion junkie who's always getting his ass whipped. As long as the name Axl and Guns n' Roses come up I'll have a wise crack. To think that anyone with one eye and half of a brain would ever take him (Axl) seriously is diluted. GnR is no where close to being put into the ranks of bands like the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Kiss or Metallica. Just to name a few. I don't know what era you GnR junkies are from, but I've seen all of the above bands and a shit load more and GnR wouldn't make a wart on any of their asses.

Good. I hope BH was well-compensated for his services and now gets involved with something interesting. The great Jonas Hellborg/Shawn Lane/Jeff Sipe trio has lost its guitarist; maybe BH would be able to step in. I'd love to hear something like this again.
