HotS continue after suicide
Published March 08, 2004
Hope Of The States - the up and coming band who caught the headlines when their guitarist committed suicide midway through recording their debut album - played their first gig on Friday night. Writing on their website before the gig, the band's Sam Herhily said: "Mike and Sam of the (un)popular misery beat group hopeofthestates will be performing songs from the first record currently being pieced together in Londontown along with lost songs and new laments on Friday March the fifth at Filthy Mcnastys Whiskey Café. Firstly a dear friend will sing a few ditties and then a wooden guitar, wooden violin and cracked voice yogle and eucrid shall perform at around 8:30pm. If ye can spend some valuable friday evenin cheer with us we would be most honoured/touched. We are hoping for a packed out house of drink and giggles so try and wander down early to ensure ye can get in, it's only a tiny wee place... "
The band are also inviting fans to create artwork images for their new single 'The Red The White The Black The Blue'. Apparently already a live favourite with the bands dedicated fanbase, the band will pick the best and use it on the release. More
