7:42 - Billy just finished a children's book. This is a last attempt at a career for these self-important stars. Just ask Madonna. Next up for Billy, maybe he will be tongue kissing Brad Pitt or something.

7:44 - Billy Crystal trains for his role at the Oscars. This is the portion of the show where we hear how hard the job is. Am I supposed to feel empathy for a guy who makes so much money?

7:46 - Thanks go to Barbara for pointing out that some of Billy's films didn't do well.

7:47 - Barbara tries to make a star cry, part 2. Billy's mother died last year and Barbara wants him to talk about his relationship with his mother. Could it be? YES! Billy is wavering in the voice. I think he is going to squirt. We have tears!

Shrek - I can't say that I have ever seen Barbara interview a computer-generated cartoon character. I don't know if this will be interesting, but it will at least have some train-wreck qualities. Mike Meyer's must have been too embarrassed to show his face after bombing worse than Pearl Harbor in The Cat in the Hat this year.

7:54 - Ok, so this is going to be a clip-show for promotional purposes for Shrek 2. Coming soon to a theater near you.

7:55 - Barbara asks Shrek a question about his childhood and they spoof the whole crying thing. This is really taking the wind out of my sails with all the jokes I have been telling.

Ok, this has officially been a promo for the movie opening April 21.

So, there goes another Barbara Walters special. This could possibly be the last, because I heard she is leaving the network. In related news, Howard Stern signed on with ABC for an interview show. Maybe next year, we can have Howard asking Halle Berry if she ever did any lesbian stuff.

Babs interviews Shrek; more shameless 'news as marketing' from the Queen Pimp. She should have pulled up her skirt, spread her legs, and let Shrek do the wild thing. That would have been about as dignified.

re: Friends cast - hope they invested wisely; their 15 minutes are just about up.

Thank gawd.

Other than Jennifer Aniston in The Good Girl, they really haven't had careers outside of Friends. Courtney Cox in Ace Ventura, I guess. Seriously though. What else?

Yeah and the Shrek interview was a very whorish maneuver. Mike Meyers was kind of funny, but it was such a cheesy thing to do.

I caught just enough of 'Bibbitty,' to just about chuck my cookies. Did some channel hopping, but came back to that disaster often enough to be sure it was a disaster. The 'interview' with Shrek was pure dreck. I would not be complaining much if there had been a couple minutes of face time for the character in the overall Crystal interview. But, no-o-o-o, Shrek gets an entire segment that is nothing but a commercial for the upcoming movie. Brought to you by the 'news' division of a big three network. People don't see through manipulation like this?

Not to mention that "bibbity" that old hag couldn't pull off anything this "fun" if her life was dependent on it.

Why Tom? He is not competent to educate America on mental health issues

I am commenting on the latest special about heaven. Barbara Walters seems to be quite ignorant of the fact that Jesus Christ himself said he was the only way to God. So if she has questions about it, she needs to talk to Christ about it, not attack those who believe in him by calling them judgmental. If she feels she has the authority to say that Jesus is lying or did not say those words, then she needs to demonstrate her authority to declare that, otherwise her remarks are nothing but slander. Next time, I'd suggest she become better prepared when interviewing people about their religions before she accuses them of things about which she knows nothing.
