Ralph Nader is "The Performance Artist"

Pissing and moaning everywhere from Democrats who view Nader as the equivalent of the Anti-Christ for putting his name in as a candidate for President. They miss the point.
"Nader suffers from attention-getting deficit disorder," is how former Clinton speechwriter Mark Katz put it. "Ross Perot had it too. Except in Nader's case the giant sucking sound is the critical vote." Ha.
Tina Brown wrote today in the Washington Post, "Crazy alpha-men in their waning years have a miserable time out of the limelight."
Adds Albert Hunt, the Wall St. Journal's token liberal, in his op-ed column today, "Nader's greatest risk is to blemish his extraordinary achievements over 40 years. As a longtime admirer, it's hard to see this as much more than a sad effort to stay in the limelight."
I understand, in a way these bloviators and talking heads never will, exactly what drives Ralph: he loves to annoy people, and running for president is by far the most annoying thing he can do, guaranteeing him a barrelfull of fun for the rest of the year.
I state unequivocally that Ralph Nader this year will have as much fun as any 70-year-old man on the planet. Who gives a shit about their legacy?
