If only more football matches were like this...

From TODAYOnline:
FOOTBALL officials from India and Singapore, in Goa for today's Pre-World Cup qualifying match between the two countries, were treated to a shocking sideshow yesterday.
.
Two Division 2 matches played on Monday night in the Goa National Football League produced an incredible number of goals - 118 to be exact.
.
Wilfred Leisure Sports Club beat Dona Paulo Sports Club 55-1 and in a match played simultaneously, Curtorim Gymkhana beat Sangada Lightning 61-1.

I feel obliged to point out this only caught my attention when someone posted it on a forum i visit regularly. Suffice to say, i had a good chuckle at this. How on earth did either team expect to get away with this? There were officials at both games, watching closely, and all four teams involved have been suspended pending an inquiry. OK, the fact that there was match-fixing going on is not a given, although i'd say it's not looking good for any of the teams involved. It might've been a little more believable if only one of the two vying for a place in the premiership had won by so much.

apparently, there was some other team a little while ago that won a match 116-something (!)
they didn't get done because there was no evidence of match fixing...

For any team to be able to score that many points in a single game, the opposing team would almost have to literally sit on their ass and do nothing. Even then, the scoring team would be hard-pressed to score that many goals in the allotted time.
Shoot one penalty kick after another, with no goalkeeper in the net, and the score MIGHT be 72-0.......
