I'm like 2 years late but oh well... You people are ridiculous. The biggest problem with Conan's Triumph sketch in Québec City is not that it's not funny; it's that it's not representative! All you see are fat guys, dorks, drag queens and old farts - none of which speak English! Furthermore, it is true that French Canadians have no loyalty or similarity whatsoever with France. To emphasize this, I remind you that France literally abandoned Québec during the 3rd French-English war in Québec City. Finally, the struggle for seperation - as ridiculous as it is in an age of Globalization - is not about racism. It's about cultural assimilation and the roles of the federal and provincial governments. French Canadians see the rest of Canada as holding them back by limiting their autonomy. Thus, telling a Quebecer to ''speak the language like everyone else'' is a grave insult. Nevertheless, I consider French Canadians who don't learn English to be worthless, since the international language is English and we can't function without understanding it.

Those french-canadians should stop wining about their culture being under attack, I'm dutch myself and overhere in Europe the French acted likewise, in regions in France where dutch, german, breton or other languages were spoken, it was illegal to speak those at schools and universities. It's not just americans who dislike the french, NOBODY likes them! I quote a dutch minister:"France is a beautiful country, a shame though that it has got french people" The french should realize their language isn't global anymore and start learning english, like we all do

hah man americans and canadians can bang eachothers wives for all i care, i have a bunch of canadian friends and most of them are just like me, they never say shit about the US besides a few comments about bush(in this case id back them up 100% :D) , but most of them DONT like quebecians(sp?) i dont really know why or care why, but ive never heard besides on the internet someone from the US talking trash about quebecians, so whats the problem? just a bunch of gimps on the internet talking shit because they read that french smell bad or that americans bleed fat. whatever doods :)

Actually Canada is a much cleaned up version than your shit hole of a country. Americans literally DISGUST me. The term Race meens just that. Asian, African American, Latino etc. Canada and France are nationalities not fucking races. Further Conan shouldn't have to apologize for making a statement he obviously beleived to be true. Because it is. All Canada is, is feces from where the USA took a big shit. I propose that the US sends aid to Canada to buy Douches and some ARRID xtra dry antiperspiriant. Canada needs to trade places with Poland when it comes to stupid jokes.

Thanks Shark :) Jim - I do regret that in my initial comments I didn't state that I thought what Conan did was in poor taste and I can see why folks were offended. You don't invite him into your family room and then let him take a shit on your coffee table (figuratively or literally). If it was some well known loose cannon comedian, known for rough commentary and the venue was say a nightclub or strip bar, well then that material might have had a chance, but I didn't think it was appropriate in the mainstream venue chosen and am glad that Conan did the right thing and apologized and admitted he messed up. I doubt even if some four-letter bombs were added and a more adult venue had been used if that material would have been even worthy of cracking a smile.

My, my Jim, are we a bit uptight today? I wasn't condemning you personally with my comments, but it seems you sure took it personally. Sorry! My brother in law who is a born and bred Canadian talks much worse about Montreal and Quebec than a foreigner like I could. I was simply sharing that I don't like hearing them constantly disrespect us down here. The same is true for us down here disrespecting them, so it does work both ways. I guess I'll just skip past your "arrogant dickhead" remark and simply suggest checking your history book a bit closer.
