Since when are blacks considered 100%black.Black people more than any othe race come in many diffrent colors that reflect this.It is a fact that the typical African american has about 10-25%of a diffrent nationality.Nobody is all anything, not even you

To Dawn and Eric Olsen,

Some people always going to have a problem with beautiful black and biracial women of African ancestry because they are afraid of losing their exclusive position in beauty/attractiveness in society. When confronted by women such as Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, Amerie, Alicia Keyes, Eve, Faith Evans, Venus and Serena Williams, Alek Wek, Tyra Banks, etc., their instinct is to dismiss them, if not objectifying them in demeaning, stereotypical boxes. The Janet Jackson incident really brought those neurosis regarding race and sex to the fore. They hate the fact that they desire the black/biracial female body, so they went gassy over Janet Jackson even though it was Justin Wimperlake who tore the bodice of the tight black dominatrix outfit Janet wore at the 2004 Superbowl. That really hit a nerve with most people, especially hypocritic conservative right-wing men in power today.

Oh, 'cause it said "Until Halle Berry won the Oscar for best actress for her role in Monster's Ball, no other black female had ever won an Oscar - NOT ONE." Some people didn't know Hattie won and, being a film kind of a gal, I thought it a good idea to correct the mistake.

Well, I'm not going to wade into the black or not comments...

I hold it incorrect to say Halle is the first 'black' woman to win an Oscar.

Hattie McDaniel did it 25 years earlier.

"...But her recognition was yet to come. The Ambassador's Coconut Grove was decked out for the Twelfth Annual Academy Awards Presentation Dinner on February 29, 1940. Along with fellow cast member Olivia DeHavilland, Hi-hat-Hattie had been nominated for Best Supporting Actress. By far the loudest ovation of the evening went to Hattie McDaniel as she won the Oscar, and became the first African American performer to win one."

The debate on someone being white or black or beige or whatever can rage on. The comment on the Oscar is now corrected.

My thing is HOT IS HOT and good lord are these women hot. Concerning Ms. Jackson, I dont feel she had to be treated like she has been. Didn't Lil' Kim have just a pasty on during the grammy's a while back. Hell, Miss Ross gave it a bounce. And that halftime show had gals barely dressed shaking what gentics gave 'em... oh... and a commercial where a dog bit a guys balls! Wow, DOG BITE + BALLS = wholesome TV. The boob thing... was it stupid to do.. yeah. Was it worse than Madonna sucking face with girls that could have been her daughters and then hawking her childrens book right after. You have to remember the book.. the one where the kids are mean and hate the pretty girl 'cause she's so domn pretty. On the race thing... we're all mixed some friggin' way and people are stupid to to not see that. I don't like being labled and classified like something on an old science chart showing man evolving... even though that would make a great T-shirt for the gay community "Homo Erectus"

And for anyone who would complain about the ladies I chose to name and show pictures of, they are celebrities in the music and entertainment business who happen to be considered icons of beauty, in no way am I saying that all black women must look like them to be beautiful. Beauty is a subjective thing and I nor, Sir Douch Yeagley can qualify those standards for anyone. Iman is certainly a beauty and she by no means is light skinned or caucasion looking.

Just wanted to get that out there before someone tries to cast a negative aspect on my efforts.

I understand. I guess what I am saying is that you can't give racists any fuel for the fire.

They are going to believe what they want to believe because they are illogical people. (god, I feel like a vulcan sometimes!)

What you need to appeal to are the people who have more than one brain cell in their head. They are more reasonable and can see logical progressions and therefore help in a grander cause.

I wish to god that people didn't see race at all. Its even worse when you are bi-racial or multi-cultural like me. My great, great, grandmother on my mother's side was Sioux and she married a black man whom she loved very much. My father is pure whitey. He married my mother because he loved her very much. They had me because they wanted a kid and I am a product of both of their love.

That is why this upsets me so much because in a perverse sort of way, it like saying that mixed people are illegitimate because they are "mixed" and the only way to accept them is not to accept them for what they are but to put them into these predefined categories that the populace en mass are comfortable with. It is and has been a dangerous road to go down. I also don't think it is very good for the children either. Its not accepting someone for who they are, but accepting them for who you want them to be.

Alicia Key is also bi-racial. I guess I just didn't see any point in making a point of the bi-racial aspect beyond her. Whether or not Halle considers herself black or white, by any racist person's standards she's black. That was all I was trying to point out.

To me, she's just a babe.

I don't give a flying fig what "white society" has decided or not decided. They also decided at one time that it was okay to put people who did not look like them in slavery. Octoroon, mulatto, quadroon, etc, are all words used to lump people who are not "pure white" into an "other" cast so that they cannot enjoy the same privileges.

Science is logical, correct, and deems this WRONG. On top of it, the sooner less people accept the garbage, the sooner people are going to be accepted for what they are. Hallie Berry is just as guilty of this.

For example, if I wanted, I am sure I could get some money for flight school if I decided to say that I am "black". Oo, a woman, who is black, wants to fly planes, or get her masters... well that is rare!

Boom, right there, I am enforcing and supporting a system that is not only scientifically incorrect but morally incorrect. It also disrespects the other parent to do this.

Once again, I don't CARE what society says- Society is often wrong. And even more basic example is say a cat or a horse!

If you cross a black cat and a white cat and you get a spotted cat, or a tabby, that is still a CAT. Not a black cat, not a white cat. That is a tabby cat or a spotted cat. Cross a bay horse with a chestnut horse, you sometimes get a dun horse. That is still a horse. It is not a chestnut horse, it is not a bay, it is a DUN HORSE.

But when it comes to people, it becomes very inconvenient to see it this way because this only confirms that we are institutionalizing racism in the most illogical way. Then it gets uncomfortable. The only way to fight it is to not accept it because it is FLAT OUT WRONG. No "technicalities" about it.

Of course you are technically correct, but white society didn't devise words as perniciously specific and arcane as "octaroon" for nothing. It's definitely changing, but until recently, any noticeable amount of "blackness" meant "black."

Halie Berry MAKES ME SICK!!

Her mother is WHITE, her father is BLACK.

Unless her father is the first man to spontaneously impregnate himself and then give birth (Oh he's Zeus), Hallie Berry is full of shit and a good example of someone trying to "ride the waves". She's the first "black" actress to win and Oscar? Bull-fucking shit. She's mixed. She is half white and for her to pretend that one parent had nothing to do with her conception is disgusting.

Best example I can give is if you take a scoop of chocolate ice crea and a scoop if vanilla, mix it in a blender, do you don't have "chocolate" ice cream anymore. Blue and yellow mixed makes GREEN.

Sorry, but this is a pet peeve of mine.
