My nominee for the Understatement of the Month award. American Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner said it, regarding the airline's investigation of reports that the pilot of American Airlines Flight 34 from Los Angeles to New York last Friday asked Christians to "identify themselves and discuss their faith with non-Christians."
Yet one more reason why only a fool flies anymore. It's not enough to have the person next to you hog the armrest, fart, and blab the whole flight even though you pretend you're having a seizure; now you have the captain encouraging religious passengers to proselytize others in a captive environment, where you can't peek behind the window shade at the Mormons on your front step and go back to Jerry Springer.
Wonder if this guy has one of those "God is my pilot - I'm only the co-pilot" bumper stickers slapped on the plane's nose? Probably not. At least, it's probably not there anymore.

One wonders what they'd have said if the American Airlines pilot had crashed his plane into the ground?
"It involved a personal level of intervention with the biological and metabolic functioning abilities of our customers that may not be appropriate for one of our employees to do while on the job. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the premature cessation of their lives.'

I saw this yesterday and just rolled my eyes. The guy should lose his job.
Then again, did you know that there are quite a few flight schools that are run by Christans and for Christans?
I wish I could find that link now... I was reseaching something else when I found those schools.
