'The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit'
Published January 31, 2004
Oh my God. On Tuesday the great 55-minute Maysles Brothers film, "What's Happening!" The Beatles in the U.S.A.," is gonna be released on DVD. It was shown once, by CBS TV, in 1964.
But wait, there's more! If you order now..., no, you don't have to order now, but I did just did (by amazon/pre-order/1-click).
What is more? How about the expanded version of the Maysles Brothers film, 83 minutes long, released in 1991? Want more? OK, how about if we throw in upgraded sound and video? Still not satisfied? Boy, you're a tough nut.
OK, then, how about a second DVD to go with the above? It'll be a 50-minute film, mostly previously unseen footage, called "Making of the Beatles' First U.S. Visit." It includes their insane train trip from Washington, D.C. up to New York City, as well as hilarious scenes from their legendary post Washington, D.C. concert party at the British Embassy.
Finally persuaded ya, didn't I?
