I imagine so
It seems really low to me too. Especially if you consider the cost-of-living in Cali, at least according to what I have heard.
No house you would want to live in for under $300K anywhere near LA
Gee, $65K sounds like good money to me, even in CA. I guess I have low standards. (Owning a house? That's for rich people who don't have to work and have time for all that maintenance and shit.)
considering the level of experience they're looking for, that amount of money is low in nearly any part of the country.
Does anybody think they won't fill the position?
if they drop the california-only bit maybe they can hire two or three engineers from bangalore.
Hey JR, I own a house. I just let my flowerbeds and yard look like shit all the time. :-)
Yeah, that last line is sort of strange. They want a CA resident to work for West Virginia (if that) wages. What, are they on their own little crusade to depress wages in the Golden State (while protecting their own intellectual property entitlements)?
Not too surprising, really.
Craig, I think I'd go with rock gardens. The beauty of rocks is really under-rated in my opinion. And they're so environmentally low-impact.
Seriously, owning a home is supposed to be the American dream. This is an executive position and they don't think they should have to pay enough that their executive can buy a freaking house within 75 miles of where the job is located?
Or maybe they don't really care about this Internet enforcement shit and it's just a cosmetic position?
Oh well, I guess you can commute for four hours a day to Encino from a cave in Oxnard or something.

Add another zero onto the end of that and they'd attract some actual talent.
