Rainbow rising...again?
Published January 27, 2004
Rumors suggest that a DIO/BLACKMORE RAINBOW reunion is on the horizon, but BW&BK sources reveal that the Blackmore and JOE LYNN TURNER management teams are in deep discussions with each other. Turner replaced singer Graham Bonnet and released the following albums with Rainbow: Difficult To Cure (1981), Straight Between The Eyes (1982) and Bent Out Of Shape (1983). The band had the most chart success with Turner in the lineup as the latter pair of releases were both Top 40 albums on Billboard in '82 and '83 respectively. With bassist Jimmy Bain apparently out of DIO, the pieces seem to be falling into place.

I couldn't help it. I lost my balance reaching for my nachos.
Alright I am game, what is the Iron Maiden Beer Incident and where is a link?
Seems like Blackmore has a good thing going with his Renaissance Faire music. Why bother reforming Rainbow?
I've been listening to the most recent album my British prog rock band Mostly Autumn (Who supported Blackmore's Night on one tour), and played it back to back with the last BN album.
Some of Mostly Autumn's music has a strong celtic/folk influence fused with rock, and it serves to remind me how crap Blackmore's Night are by comparison :)
Blackmore should get back with Dio, and show us whether he's still got any hard rock left in him. Otherwise Dio should team up with Yngwie Malmsteen; that would rock.
Blackmore and Turner? Bleargh!
Meanwhile, I must write a review of the Mostly Autumn album...
I love Blackmore's Night. I'll take that as an endorsement of Mostly Autumn and keep an eye out for them.
I kind of agree on Blackmore/Turner, although I think Joe Lynn Turner is a great singer. Unfortunately, I'm not sure Ronnie James Dio's voice is what it used to be. What is he, like 70 now? Then again, Dio (or David Coverdale) at a shadow of his former self is worth ten Sammy Hagar's in their prime.
Hmmm... Blackmore and Coverdale. Now THAT sounds interesting.

marty, i'm a little shocked that you have yet to post anything about the great Iron Maiden Beer Spill Incident.
