Hurricane Party blow away January blues

Hurricane Party
The Metro
London
Hurricane Party blew away the Metro last night with a blistering set of hard glam rock. As you would expect they played the songs from their excellent self-titled EP (which was on-sale at the gig). I am sure I was not the only one in the audience looking forward to their next release. Songs included 'Step Back' and 'Crown of Thorns'. A few newer ones were played, including the excellent 'Roadstar'. The song is about their experiences on the road to fame. You need to see these guys before they go huge. The room was heaving with a decent cross section of rockers, the age of the crowd was fairly broad as well. Hurricane Party rocked the Metro like it was Brixton not a small club on Oxford Street. As I said in the last review, The Darkness better watch it, because Hurricane Party is nipping at their fringed boot's heels. If there is any justice in the music world, this lot will be bloody huge worldwide. They got the looks, the chops and the attitude. Last night HP didn't look like a band on the up, but a big band doing a small club for kicks. Yes, they are that good.
