The comments I'm getting are the odd one every few days; they seem like real people (unless someone's written a 'bot to simulate poorly socialised teens)

The Distributed spams are a very worrying development; Making Light got hit by one of those last week, presumably from trojan horses on hundreds of compromised machines, courtesy of Bill Gates' crap security.

Sadly, I don't think we're going to be able to have weblog commenting without some kind of comment registration for much longer than another few months; I believe comment registration will be a feature of MT3.0

I know if I start getting flooded by comment spam on a regular basis I'm going to have to disable comments; I just don't have the time to delete large numbers of comments on a daily basis.

Something very strange is happening: in Jan's section (which is technically a different blog) we just had about 400 spam comments in about a half-hour, coming just seconds apart from all different IPs. I hope this is not a new tool of the disfigured fucks.

For some inexplicable reason the comment section of the review of "Permission to Land" on my own site (it's the same review I posted here) has been overrun by hordes of immature teenagers telling now much they think The Darkness suck.

I haven't yet been able to work out from my referral logs quite where this tide of annoying brats is coming from.
