The Women of 24
Published January 09, 2004

First off, 24 is one of my favorite shows on television (if you're a regular reader you know this already). Secondly, I love the women of 24, except for Chloe (what is the point of her annoying character). Yes even Kim. I do find the character annoying. However, I love to see how the writers seem to make Kim screw up everything she's involved with. The character of Michelle, Tony's wife, is a pretty standard part. What makes the part unique is the acting of Reiko Aylesworth. She's a very solid actress; and she does uncomfortable very well.
What ever happened to Lynn, who fell in that stairwell last season? She survived the fall, so you would assume that she would be back with President Palmer's staff. However, no mention of her has ever been made.
Last night one of my favorites returned. Nina. Although, if she were supposed to be a traitor to the United States, I would have thought the government would be keeping better tabs on her. I find it hard to believe that she would be able to be working for another terrorist who wants to buy the virus. Belief being suspended, I was thrilled when she appeared in last night's episode. It looks as if we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the next episode too. Nina is the kind of villain that the show is missing right now. Yes we have the Salazars, but they're just a little too one-note and predictable. Nina throws everything out of whack.
Supposedly Sherry will be returning next week. I'm sure it has something to do with the trouble the President's brother has gotten himself into. Once again, we have a character who is unpredictable. Although, I do believe that she does everything she does out of her love for her husband, President Palmer. I'm wondering if it will be President Palmer calling her for help this time. I believe I saw something in the previews for next week's episode, in which President Palmer says that he'll have to play at his former friends low level. Let's hope Sherry sticks around for a while.
Brace yourself. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

I wonder of chloe is the best actress of them all, if she's so unlikeable. Reiko Aylesworth is a very good actor, though.
But will President Palmer ever find true love? Good riddance to Dr. Anne and her storyline.
Palmer and Nina should hook up
High eww factor there, I agree, but I think that's the angle: "is there anything Jack won't do for THE JOB?"
Call me strange but before finding out that Nina was a snake/skank/fill_in_the_blank, I kind of liked the whole Nina/Jack chemistry.
But of course - she was utterly reliable and sympathetic throughout the whole first season - that was why her perfidy was so shocking. She couldn't have gone to almost pure evil if she hadn't been presented for most of a whole season as almost pure good.
I think that is what has been missing in this season, Eric: the sexual tension. Kim and Chase? No way. Michelle and Tony? ZZZZzzzz. Palmer and Dr. Anne? Please. Wayne banging the wife of the guy in the wheelchair? Hmm. Chloe and ... well, anybody? No way.
Throw in junkie Jack with a loose cannon Nina and 24 suddenly gets much more interesting in season 3.
And the possibility of the conniving Sherry coming back tonight? A recipe for success!
Interesting 24 episode last night. One of the best yet this year, IMO.
(don't read if you ahead if you haven't watched ... spoiler alert)

I'm not sure what to think of the Chloe and her baby being introduced (I'm somewhat curious of what type of person mated with her, though). I'm disturbed by the concept that her baby might end up as a hostage in a future episode. Why didn't Ryan Shapell just kick her out of the CTU? That seemed like a very weak exchange between those two in the plausibility department.
Sherry coming back was predictable, but still good fun. The whole Wayne subplot is still a bit tired, I still don't see why the President just doesn't cut his brother loose, but then again if he did, then Sherry wouldn't be back, so got to take the good with bad there.
Am I the only one who thinks Kim's character role in this season seems almost as useless as last season? It's the same replayed scenario with her. Not much action at CTU headquarters this season so far. Now if we found out Kim was a man and the father of Chloe's child, now that might be a twist! LOL
I've got a bad feeling that Chase isn't out of the woods yet. Hector and company are going to hotwire a truck and catch up with him, I think, before the extraction team comes in. If he's pulled out, then there is absolutely zero tension for Kim because her beau will be returned home.
Two weeks to the next episode?! Are they passing this for American Idol and that fat obnoxious guy marrying my daughter thing?

Nice MW, I love the women of 24 also, even Kim (maybe especially Kim because she reminds me so much of my daughter, but my daughter isn't retarded). That bony little bitch Nina sure lights up the screen and with Sherry coming back - whoa buddy! I don't think Sherry does everything for the love of David Palmer, however. She may love him but she is also a self-serving, conniving meddler who has to be part of the action no matter what, even to the detriment of her husband.
Chloe only has two problems: she is neither appealing nor attractive.
