Prime Suspect

The first of two parts of the latest "Prime Suspect" has aired, the second on Sunday on CBC. What makes this series different (well, aside from Helen Mirren's spectacular acting on teevee, no less) is that, while it is a police procedural, it is really about a job. Underlings, superiors, competition among contemporaries, you name it, this has it. "Prime Suspect" is largely about work.

I do get tingley with how the characters call Jane Tennison either "gov" or "m'um"
And the opening scene of her in her bra kinda makes me go "mmmmm". I mean "'m'am".
This will air on Masterpiece Theater in April on PBS.
Of course the series has suffered since the demise of Sid James, and the change of the series name to "Prime Suspect".
But still worth watching, and if you are border signal pirates, catch the second half on Sunday. Or if you are in Canada.

Holy Helen Mirren! There's one for you, eh?
Sir, I would!
