Yes, the pathological lying was even more disturbing than the statements about sleeping with children.

Eric,

You are right, I have become a 'Blogcritic Junkie'. I suffer from withdrawls if I don't log on and read it. ;~)

I usually miss out on the weekends because of time constraints, but that makes me look forward to Mondays!!! Then I can catch up on blogs....

MD, regarding where people have been for the last week or so: I am actually incredibly happy with how little drop-off we've had in traffic over the holidays. Other than the actual holiday days, we've had virtually no drop-off at all. I think it means people are willing to make an effort to get to us even when they are away or out of the usual environment in which they read us. This is a big change from even as recently as the summer - things are looking very favorably for '04.

I am not saying M.J. is a criminal, C., because I do not know what really happened. I want the best for him. But, he has to get out of the mess he is in somehow.

Craig, Leonard sounds like he is slippery as an eel. I suspect he has equally slippery lawyers helping him. People don't manage the things he has done without any convictions otherwise. It is also curious that a person who has been judgment proof for decades is able to start business after business. Have the investors and banks he deals with never heard of background checks?

Where've you guys been keeping yourselves? Had lengthy New Year's Eve hangovers, eh?

Selling ineffectual drugs as a false hope to diseased people has now entered the top 5 most reprehensible things I can think of. Coincidentally (allegedly) diddling children is close by on that list.

I agree Muhammad sounds like fraud personified. But how can Michael be rescued from him? If he had good security people, they would have run a background check before letting Muhammad get access to him.

What I am seeing is neglect, neglect, neglect. With all the people Jackson has around him, including his family, it seems almost criminal no one intervened in his affairs before now. Yes, it is embarassing for adults to have their affairs taken over by family or a receiver while they are treated for whatever is ailing them. But, as many a celebrity can testify, it can save their careers and even their lives. Even now, an admission he is overwhelmed might be the best way to go.

Last night, I thought about Michael's mess as a writer with a result I think you will find interesting. The entry is up at Mac-a-ro-nies and will also be posted here.
