Movies
When you actually witness the rise and return of the king you are filled with emotion. It touches you to see him reunited with his love especially after denying a well deserved suitress. The movie like Matrix III embodies all the necessities to wrap you in and not let go until the closing credits. The movie is long but the way the story is being told, to attempt to put you in the place of the character, the close-ups and monologues become necessary. I enjoyed the Trilogy, I will own them all on DVD and I will actually watch them over and over.
When a story leaves you wanting more, wanting to know the characters even after the story is over (even if its only to loathe them more) that is the mark of a well made film.

You say:

Yet you also say you probably will never read the books? That's the easiest way to get even deeper into the characters!
I loved LOTR: ROTK as well... and I've read the books three times (and the Silmarillion twice!).
Thanks for the suggestions on Mona Lisa Smile. Looks girly, but I may see it just for Kirsten.
Visual: It's sad but I went to see Anything Else on Saturday, the following Friday it was gone. I'm not sure why but not too many people were feeling this film.
Ken: I loved the film of LOTR but as for the book I'm just not interested. I know there is much more there, destruction of the Shire, Sarimon and so forth but for me its all overkill. I'm a Harry fan and we'll just leave it that.
Thanks for the comments.

Yeah but wasn't that fight scene at the end in Matrix: Revolutions a tad bit long and repetitive? It was definitely better than Reloaded though as per all that you mentioned.
Oh and I wanted to watch Anything Else, sadly none of my friends did and I'm not the solo movie going type.
