Saddam Conspiracy Theories

Since the capture of Saddam Hussein, there have been numerous stories questioning or contradicting the original account of his arrest. The original story is this: U.S. troop act on intelligence about Saddam's whereabouts and find him in a hole.

Shortly thereafter, like an unstable piece of software, followed Saddam's Capture V2.0beta: Saddam was drugged.

More recently, we have Saddam's Capture V3.0: The Kurds got him.

As with all releases there is a version that incorporates the wildest features of all the earlier versions. Saddam's Capture V4000 Unlimited: Saddam betrayed, drugged and traded by Kurds.

That particular version is available for download at Aljazeera.

For an a list of all the possible variations on the arrest of Saddam, I suggest Conspiracy Theories Surrounding Saddam's Capture by Dr. Nimrod Raphaeli found at the Middle East Research Institute.

As with most updates on a popular title, I prefer the initial release.

Thanks James and welcome!

The inherent problem with the term "conspiracy theory" these days is that it carries the unspoken message that this idea cannot possibly, under any circumstances, be true or even taken seriously by anyone with any brains at all.

Remember... just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you.

..HA HA HA..I love it. I have to get it written on a tshirt:)

Does it matter how the sod was caught. He's been found and thats all that should matter. Dramatisation often happens in cases such as these and people should allow for it. I laughed so hard when I read that Madeline Albright said " Do you suppose the Bush Administration have Bin Laden somewhere and will bring him out just before the election?" or something to that effect, I dont remember the exact quote. I thought it was hilarious:)

I read some of Raphaeli's theories, and honestly...it just makes sense. Let's just hope all this effort towards democracy does the Arabs some good. I think we'd have to first disperse them all over different parts of their countries to reproduce an artificial "manifest destiny" (which happened to create the New World...remember, most people in the States don't know that an O'Connor has roots in Ireland)...anyhow, this process will help them let go of their heavy tribal ties that hold them back in the dark ages...that should replicate the great success that the American model is today. Unless you have any better ideas?

(forgive me as i do not know much about politics/complexities/technicalitys and excuses as to make themselves exempt of any law that they (US) made)

BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING EVER SINCE SADDAMS CAPTURE I HAVNT SEEN HIM MUCH ON THE NEWS OR MEDIA. AN I WAS JUST WONDERING IS SADDAM STILL ALIVE?
HAS HE ALREADY BEEN EXECUTED BY THE US GOVERMENT?
IT IS SED THAT SADDAM WASNT HEALTHY WHEN THEY CAPTURED HIM AND THAT HE HAD CANCER I MEAN IS THAT AN EXCUSE TO SAY THAT THEY HAVE KILLED HIM WHEN HE "DIES OF CANCER"?

I have always thought it odd that the Saddam we see who was "captured" does not have a dimple in the middle of his chin (similar to the one Kirk Douglas had) yet the Saddam we saw in previous news photos who did all those bad things did have a dimple.

The Saddam we see who was captured has a beard in the middle of his chin, Larry.

Thanks for the post and links, James.

The truth counts but sometimes we never know all the details related to the final result. The feeling of 'not knowing' births the theories, the 'versions' you speak of.
