I can imagine this conversation:
Police #1 — Hey, where's the King of Pop
Police # 2 — In the bathroom
Police # 1 — You think his s*** don't stink?
Police # 2 — Nope.

I didn't forget. He may have been married, but he wasn't Married.
Actually, he wasn't married TWICE.
I think in this particular case it is appropriate to enclose the word married in quotes.

Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley . . . they had that ultra-creepy kiss on one of the awards shows. That you forget - and I initially forgot - shows how seriously we all took this marriage.
