PDFs, or How the Paranoid Survive
Published December 08, 2003
I stumbled upon a helpful site with PDF tips. It's called www.PDFforLawyers.com.
Now, don't be put off by the site title. It's not just for lawyers.
This site is full of tips for using PDFs. Started by Ernie the Attorney (don't you just love that name!) of blogging fame, PDFforLawyers has lots of useful information.
Of course, you don't have to be in the legal business to find many of Ernie the Attorney's PDF tips helpful. Even fascinating. Did you know that when you make changes in a Word document, all of your changes show up in the metadata for those-in-the-know to discover? But if you convert the document to a PDF file, the reader can't track the changes you made. This is great to know for the paranoid among us.
There is also a newsletter with some very useful stuff.
Roughly 12 million individuals use Adobe to create PDFs today, according to Adobe's CEO Bruce Chizen. Considering how popular the PDF file format has become, you might want to bookmark Ernie's site.
