"Amor Es Perros" [Love's A Bitch]

I watched this on DVD on Thursday night. Powerful, wonderful, engrossing. Nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign language film in 2001. I happened to read about it 'cause the director, Alexandro Gonzalez Ignarritu, has a new film out which got rave reviews.

This film is told as three separate episodes, whose characters interact accidently and irrevocably, changing the direction of their respective lives by dint of happenstance and accident. Or is it more than that?

It takes place in Mexico, and is very bloody and violent. Dogs are crucial to the stories that unfold, each so natural and absorbing that you just put your faith in the director and follow along. Highly recommended.

I thought that this movie was amazing and I loved the way that the director made the movie like a puzzel trying to pice the cines together. I would recamend this.
