Lord, I must partly agree with Barger. A fairly bland comment like that is hardly grounds for criticism. Let's not forget that most persons with political stars in their eyes avoided the Vietnam War one way or another, including the current occupant of the White House. And, for the record, I'm still undecided about which candidate I will support for president.

Rand knows I'm no fan of Dean, but I don't see how this particular statement is any kind of issue- particularly since Dean is anti-military anyway.

He should have taken an even higher road. Dean could have said something like, "There is nothing I would have been happier to do than to have served my country like the honorable Wesley Clark. Did I mention that I support the troops even though I don't agree with the war?"
