Thursday - Acoustic (ITunes)

I downloaded and installed the PC version of ITunes just so I could get this live album which is exclusively available on ITunes. The band Thursday performed an acoustic show live from the Apple store along with recent tourmates Thrice. I downloaded the five tracks that Thursday did, but didn't get the Thrice tunes.

Thursday perform, "War all the Time," "This Song Brought to You by a Falling Bomb," "This Side of Brightness," "Signals Over the Air," and "Division Street." All these songs are from their most recent album and it would be well worth it to most fans of the band to hear them in this unique setting.

I didn't know if a sonic force like Thursday would be able to pull off the acoustic thing, but they did it almost flawlessly. The vocals are true to the recording and the acoustic guitars are a great treatment. I especially enjoyed the part toward the end of "War All the Time" when the guitar part breaks down. Usually the riffs have some pretty heavy harmonics, but the band pulled it off with the acoustic guitars.

As for the songs only being available on ITunes, I don't know how much I like it. I am a collector at heart and ultimately would prefer to have a professionally produced jewel case with insert. What can I say? I am a little nuts.

Actually, 'this side of brightness' is not from this album. It is from their first full-length 'waiting'. Please learn about your artists, before you start blabbing about them like you've been listening to them for years.
