Because it's a democratic republic, silly, with a two-house parliamentary-style system like all the great democracies.

There is no justification for the loss of American life any further in Iraq. President Bush's get the job done stratigy is highly flawed. The Iraqi Government and people will ne3ver unite under a forced democracy. Ther has never been unity in that part of the world and there will always be conflict. It is the nature of the beast. Get the F**k out and stop waisting American lives for people who really don't give a rats A** for us. Oh and by the way America is actually not a Democracy "and to the Republic for which it stands" as we pledge our allegiance and I suggest one reads the Army boot camp manual. It very clearly states that America is not a democracy but a republic! So why are we caliming to bring Democracy to the world when we actually don't have it here?

They're coming here to kill us because we're mucking around in their business. If we stop mucking around in their busines, they'll stop coming here to kill us. Period. You don't see bin laden flying planes into buildings in Mexico City. That's because Mexico is not mucking around in their business.

Secure the borders sufficiently to guard against terrorism. Otherwise, shut the military down and spend the money on other things.

"However, we have Arab fanatics actively coming HERE to KILL US. We've got to fight them one way or another, or just stand here and way for them to come kill more of us."

And WHY are they trying to kill us? Well, the stated reasons are: our troop deployment in Saudi Arabia and our support of Isreal.

I don't necessarily agree with the plan, but I see no reason to doubt that if we withdrew from the Middle East they'd forget about us and concentrate on killing each other. I mean, come on! If we invade other countries that will prevent their people from attacking us? That's insane troll logic.

The ecosystem is what counts most and for the ecosystem to thrive the War on Terror must continue, as painful as the human loss is.

Regardless of how someone has felt about the war so far, the people who have supported this type of strategy have been few and far between. Thankfully! To think that we can just get up and leave after all this time spent is ridiculous. You go on thinking it is a good idea. You will probably go the way of Kucinich's presidential campaign because he agrees with you.

Well, unlike the Democrats running for president, you absolutely do have a plan. I'll give you that.

On the other hand, it's an extraordinarily bad plan. Perhaps the gentlemen with whom you had issues in Vermont didn't know where you lived, or didn't care enough to follow you. Plus, how badass could someone from VERMONT be in the first place?

However, we have Arab fanatics actively coming HERE to KILL US. We've got to fight them one way or another, or just stand here and way for them to come kill more of us.

The basic point is that we're taking the fight to them. Do we want to wait for them to get to NYC again?

It's damned unfortunate that we're getting soldiers killed, but I'd much rather have the Arab dirtbags fighting our trained soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan rather than American civilians here at home.
