Chinese punks banned from touring

A Chinese punk girl band have had to pull out of a UK tour because their government has deemed their music "inappropriate".

Hang On The Box were due to appear alongside My Red Cell, Future Kings Of Spain, and Ludes on a UK-wide tour starting this Monday. But Chinese authorities have refused the band members the relevant visas on the basis that the band are "an inappropriate representation of Chinese culture". It seems government officials were not impressed with the band's live show act and song titles such as 'For Some Stupid Cunts At BBS' and 'Ass Hole, I'm Not Your Baby'.

The tour will go ahead with the three other bands. Local acts will be picked for each date to fill the gap in the proceedings left by the Hang On The Box girls.
