Cure to release rarity box set
Published November 14, 2003
The Cure will release a four disc rarities and b-sides box set featuring 71 tracks from the band's 25 year career.
Robert Smith has talked up the release by saying his band have always put special effort into their b-sides: "With the Cure we always looked for something that was a skewed version of what we did on the album. I'm really proud of our B-sides and I've always paid special attention to them."
Rarities wise there will be the track 'Lament', written for a Flexi-Pop magazine insert in 1982, three versions of the Doors' 'Hello I Love You', a previously unreleased live cover of Jimi Hendrix's 'Purple Haze' and an acoustic take of 'Just Say Yes' - among many others.
'Join the Dots: B-Sides and Rarities, 1978-2001' will be released in the New Year.

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is better
You're kidding, right? You think "Hot, Hot, Hot" compares to "Pictures of You?"
why do I have to compare "Hot Hot Hot" to "Pictures of You"? I'm comparing albums and I said what I said.
Then compare any song on Kiss Me to any song on Disentegration. I've got both cds and in no way do they come close.
dang, this stuff's not a competition.
are you saying that there's objective criteria that songs (or any art) can be judged by?
don't think so.
This is like when I get into the conversation of comparing sports teams going position by position. It doesn't make a lot of sense as was pointed out in the world series the last two years. Same thing with albums. I don't think a single song on Dark Side of the Moon compares in intensity and beauty than Comfortable Numb. Yet, as an album it is MY OPINION that Dark Side is better than the Wall. You could go piece by piece and analyze but that doesn't really prove a point.
