Suing the Calling?
Published November 05, 2003
CMU reports:
Two members of BMG signed rockers The Calling are suing their bandmates and management over allegations of fraud, mismanagement and breach of fiduciary duty. Bassist Billy Mohler and drummer Nate Wood are suing frontman Alex Band, guitarist Aaron Kamin and management firm Spivak Entertainment.
In their suit, filed in LA, Mohler and Wood claim they played on several tracks on The Calling's 2001 debut 'Camino Palmero' and later toured with the band. They say that, when they asked for a full accounting of proceeds from the tour, Band, Kamin and the group's management offered them a share of less than a thousand dollars each. The two musicians were then not included in the recording of the band's next album - currently in production. Mohler and Wood are looking for a share of royalties and ticket sales to date.
No comment as yet from any of the defendents.

My wife loves the one hit from their first album, "Wherever You Will Go." I think it sounds like a Hanson tune with a cheesy Eddie Vedder imitator on lead vocals.
The Call-Now that was a band, my friends!

Marty's band, Growing Old Disgracefully, can be found at:

Just for fun, if anyone cares to ever listen to this band's horribly boring songs which aren't anything new, you might as well buy a used copy of their disc. There are 65 copies for sale at amazon starting at a little under $3 and there are 94 more copies available at half.com starting at $1.99.
A band with that many copies of their debut album in the secondary market probably doesn't have a crazy fanbase waiting to snatch up their second album.
