Ronnie James Dio, late of Elf, Rainbow and Black Sabbath, has severed his finger. And in the classic Spinal Tap style it was done in a gardening accident. No word yet on how this will affect his band Dio's future plans.

Good news, it looks like they've successfully re-attached his thumb. Now if he'd lost a pinky or an index finger, his career would have been seriously jeopardized.
BTW, is the thumb a finger?
