As discussed at some length here, Love was hospitalized last week for a drug overdose after she attacked a friend's house trying to get in. Now she's been charged:

Singer-actress Courtney Love was charged with a misdemeanor drug count Tuesday, less than a week after she allegedly tried to break into a Los Angeles home.

Love is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Los Angeles, said Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the city attorney's office. Love's drug tests were still pending, he said. [AP]

Although police spokespersons did not divulge what substance Love was allegedly using, the singer and actress herself posted a somewhat cryptic message on her official website this past Sunday (October 5), which read in part, "Two words...MY house...five words...Don't F--K with a strong sedative...one word ipecac?...IPECAC? or AMBULANCE?...I lost a day so I couldn't talk...that motherf--king piece of sh-t in MY house...and I will not even comment on the L.A.P.D....oh and the controlled substance...ONE F--KING WORD...XANAX!"
