It's no different than making people pay a levy on video tapes so they can record shows off the tv, the knew that was illegal right?

Tom, does the money actually get in the hands of the recording artists? I think you'll find that it doesn't, most likely the money winds up in a recording company CEO's pocket, the people who are lobbying the most for these money grab laws are the record-companies themselves, because they're the ones who profit from them, not to mention the fact that they profit directly from a storage medium, and not actual cd-audio discs, which they have no real proof that the cd's are being used for, it sounds like total bullshit to me, especially seeing as people can copy anything they want whether it's legal or not.

this is to protect the artist so if 1 of every 100 cds use to burn a copy cd from p2p sources the cost of 100 cds would be taxed at at the cost of and most p2p users would go though 100 cds evey 2 months per say now the tax would be $2.50 since yahoo give unlimted acess to unlimted music just like p2p it is simple answer to complacated promblem now that canda is thinking repaling this graet law because they now have us artist as well and thare is not enough money to go a round note before p2p came out most canadians were happy with this aragement now if us adopts the same law us and canadians would most likely be happy with it

the private copying levy alows any one to copy anything thogh any means as long as it is not for profit so dvd copy software is taxed dvds as well as dvdrs piecey is non almost existent in canada

I heard about p2p streaming radio one note receding othe music is prohibetded but what stops you from outputing your sound card to your stereo with a cd receder or to another computer this is no differnt the radio thare is no control of the lisnters in this case the complexity of the computer gives a ilusion of control but no reel control exsist they can only monitor what hapens on that computer of possably a network but no chance of yamaha stereo or non networked computer but if recerd off the radio dose anone want to sue me but radio station takes bribes so I can here and recerd the songs that I want this is odd to say the least

I figerd out way protest radio bribery that the riaa is into simply devaule radio avertising you hear a radio advert avoid the pruduct in qustion at all costs this way radio staions are presherd to change thare way s and that then simply dont turn on the radio and use internet radio simply put people dont listen they have no power the riaa can restrict thair content but not what they dont repesant so internet radio stations dont play riaa content mor e artist are leaving riaa contracts as they are non profitable and other recerd groups do exsit and are gaining suport the riaa wants to hide the truth behind a wall of complexity so reserch speak up and break it down
