Dixie Chicks whinge some more..
Published September 23, 2003
The Dixie Chicks say they now like to think of themselves as part of the Rock 'n' Roll community, partly because of the lack of support from the country scene after those anti-Bush remarks last year.
Speaking to a German magazine violinist Martie Maguire said she was
disappointed other country singers didn't back up the Dixie Chicks in their
criticism of George W Bush's politics on Iraq. "The support we got came from
others, like Bruce Springsteen. We don't feel part of the country scene any
longer, it can't be our home any more. We now consider ourselves part of the
big Rock 'n' Roll family."

Well, who didn't see this coming a million miles away? Being as they initally formed as a pop group, but weren't popular - so they went country. Of course they would try to solidify themselves as long-term musicians. Country is too unstable... not enough cash...

Sorry girls - try and find another home (perhaps the folk scene) - Rock-n-Roll won't claim you. Your music is horrible regardless of political views.
