The O.C.

Marissa finally warms up to Ryan after last weeks walk-in on him getting to second with his adoptive grandpa's new girlfriend. It only took a long-distance phone-call from a despondent dad. But that's ok. It's just a divorce. It's not like finding out your on-again-off-again beau, who you just lost your virginity with to get back at the boy next door for above-mentioned indiscretions, is the biggest himbo in the county.

Quite the blow to a girl's fragile ego. What is she to do in a situation like this? Why, stumble into the only empty bar in all of Mexico and chase a fistful of painkillers with a shot of tequila, of course! Suddenly, the three menacing looking fellas crowding the corner table start coming over to Missy's bar stool (presumably to help her to a respectable doctor) and Coop's out the door faster than a weevil can say wobbly wibble whiz. After careening through a Brazilian street party's worth of drunken underaged revelers, Marissa finally collapses in a dark alley and is miraculously rescued by her fearless trio, led by Mr. Dashing. The final iconic scene (before the show breaks for Major League Baseball season) is of all arms wrapped in leather bracelets Ryan holding a limp Marissa and not proceeding to aforementioned respectable doctor.

Oh, and Ryan starts a barfight with himbo Luke that can only lead to bad things as forecasted by the prolonged shot of a "Welcome to Tijuana" sign with the ominous addendum: "Unruly behavior will not be tolerated" or something to the effect that Luke will probably be in jail when we next hook up with this super-sudsy soaper on October 30 (that's right, the net has boldly decided to pit it's only new one-hour hit in a decade against Will and Grace and CSI).

I anticipate this almost as much as episode 1, season 3 of Alias, where hopefully we find out what the hell happened!
