It's on my side for sure. I like. My brother-in-law went to see the magnificent Bebel Gilberto, and said that "a cool Scandinavian dude with a slide guitar was supporting. His name was Magnet. Check it." He's Norwegian and I'd never heard about him. I looked on his site and was pleased to see that I could listen to one track and see the video of another. I was curious. My imagination had been stirred. Off to the shops and get in.

Throughout the album I hear remnants of Radiohead. Despite this heavy influence, he's used the ideas with taste and style and doesn't stray from his own style. There's also this strangy country type feel to some of the tracks, but who said country can't be good?

It's quiet. Focus is on lyrics and vocals in general. The difference on this album is the fact that should you choose to listen carefully, the backing track still has detail and attention has been paid where it matters. The mark of a good producer, to be sure.

I would recommend this guitar strumming yodler from Norway to anyone who likes John Martyn, Elbow, Simon & Garfunkel, Radiohead and Ian Brown. A mix perhaps, but a good one.
