CMU reports:
The long awaited band combining the original Guns 'n' Roses line up (bar
Axl) with Stone Temple Pilots' vocalist Scott Weiland have finally signed to
a record label. Velvet Revolver's debut album, due out next year, will be
released by BMG imprint RCA.
In a statement the band told reporters: "We're thrilled to partner with RCA
Records and its legendary chief, the enigmatic Clive Davis. We believe this
marriage will be a loyal, dedicated and fruitful relationship not based
solely on business, but instead on the thing that once dared us all to dream
-music.
For his part Clive Davis added: "This is a milestone signing for RCA. Velvet
Revolver is distinguished by not only its powerhouse musicianship but also
by its new material. The songs I've heard will propel this group to the very
forefront of rock music today."

I know Clive Davis is a legend, but instead of saying "The songs I've heard will propel this group to the very
forefront of rock music today," wouldn't it have been better to just say "I think they are going to kick ass."
This is rock and roll not the Girl Scouts.
