start ups finishing up

Well, it has happened in a lot of different areas. People have an idea, give it a go, and it just doesn't go as far as hoped.

I'd been helping out with a local newspaper start up, writing articles and restaurant reviews. But it had been awhile since I'd heard from the publisher. And I just hadn't been over to pick up the paper itself in quite awhile-Yes, I'm a hideous slug, but in my defense, the circulation area is a little away from my stomping grounds.

Well, the september isseu should have been out. I dragged myself over to the little store that used to carry it.

They hadn't even heard of it.

I think my paper is no more. I am sad about it. I enjoyed my minor fame. Probably it was fame in my own head, but still...

I liked seeing my byline. No more real paper journalism for me. At least, not until I find a new publication.

One thing I know, I was the best da^& writer on that rag. May it rest in peace.
