<description>Bah!  The Darkness didn&#039;t win.  One of the rules of the Mercury Music Prize is that the favourites never win.  The award went to Hip Hop singer Dizzee Rascal.

I never expected The Darkness to win, they might have been the best band, but they were never going to be &#039;cool&#039; enough.</description>
